ABOUT ME
FUTURE HEIRLOOMS

guardian.jpg

This guardian angel picture belonged to my grandmother, Mary Evaline Haning Brooks. My parents gave it to me several years before they died. Grandma had it in the early fifties, for sure, and I do not know how much earlier. There are many reproductions and derivative works but I have never seen any acknowledgement of who painted the picture. I have tried several times to find out who the artist is and when the picture was first sold. I would appreciate any information my visitors can send me. You may post the information in my guestbook that is on the first page of this site.

FAMILY MEMBER ANDREW JACKSON PETTY

Thanks to Dorothy and Perry Perrone for sharing their pictures of the Petty family heirlooms.

This is Great-aunt Ruby's brass schoolbell which I inherited from her brother, my Grandpa Petty. She used it in a one-room schoolhouse at Cottage Grove, Henry County, Tennessee. The bell was probably made around 1890.
