Answer #1 Grandma Haning's name was Cleopatra Annie. Just before World War II jokes and limericks about Henry
VIII and Anne Boleyn, one of the wives he beheaded, were popular. Some family members teased "Annie" by adding "Boleyn"
to her name.

Answer #2
The teasing mentioned above probably did go on but it was not an addition to the name. There is evidence that Grandma
Haning's real name was Cleopatra Annie Boleyn, though there is still argument over how she spelled "Boleyn". It remains a
mystery why Annie's parents chose to name her after two women who were not really admirable characters.
Answer #3
Strange as it seems, Goodspeed's History of Arkansas gives the name as Cleopatra Annie Boleyn. I first conceded
that the name was not a joke when I read that excerpt. Later, a 2nd cousin shared with me some of Annie's own writings
that confirmed the name.
