GRANDPA'S CINNAMON BUNS
(Kenneth again, but he didn't start making
these until long after he was a Grandpa. This
is in his own words.)

Mix together:

2 packages dry yeast
3/4 cup warm water, 110-120 degrees
3/4 cup sugar
3/4 cup milk, scalded and cooled
1 teaspoon salt if desired (we like it without salt)
2 eggs
3/4 cup oil

Add 4 to 5 cups flour

Roll out in flour (About 8-10 cups flour, total)
Knead until rubbery
I usually use two bowls for the dough to rise in
Oil bowl lightly, turn dough so top will have
oil on it. Set to rise in warm place until dough
is doubled, about 1 and 1/2 hours.

Roll out dough in thin sheet on kneading board.
Roll to about 10 x 20 rectangle, cover with melted
butter or margarine (use 1 and 1/2 cups stick margarine)
Cover with sugar and cinnamon as desired
Roll into tight roll, cut about one inch
Put in oiled pan to rise again, about 45 minutes

Bake in 350 degree oven 30 to 40 minutes, until
lightly browned

SYBIL ROBBINS'S CHERRY NUT PIE
(Sybil was the mother of my "son-in-love" Dave)

Melt 1 cup butter in 9x13 pan
Mix together and press in bottom and sides of pan:

2 cups flour
1 cup chopped pecans
1/2 cup brown sugar

Bake 15 minutes at 400 degrees
Cool and break into pieces
Cover with 2 cans cherry pie filling
Beat two packages Dream Whip according to directions
Add 8 oz. softened cream cheese, 1/2 cup confectioners sugar and 1 teaspoon vanilla
Spread over top of cherries
Place in refrigerator

SWEET POTATO CASSEROLE
(another Sybil Robbins recipe)

3 cups mashed sweet potatoes
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. melted butter

Mix and pour into casserole dish, then top with mixture of

1 cup light brown sugar
1/3 cup flour
1 cup nuts
1/3 cup melted butter

Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes

GRANDPA'S PANCAKES
(Another of Kenneth's - Daddy's, Grandpa's, Pop's -
specialties. This was put into words for the children and
grandchildren by his wife Rozellah - Mama, Granny,
Ganna.)

2 cups sifted all purpose flour
1/2 cup sugar
4 and 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
2 eggs
2 cups milk
1/2 stick margarine
Sift flour, sugar, baking powder and salt into large bowl
Beat eggs in medium size bowl
Mix in milk and melted margarine
Stir into dry ingredients, just until blended
Ladle 1/2 cup batter onto hot griddle
Bake 3 to 4 minutes or until bubble appear on top
Turn and bake 2 or 3 minutes longer

Serve hot with butter (margarine) and syrup

NOTE: Daddy always made sugar syrup to go with
his pancakes. He showed me how to do it but, like you,
dear descendants, I find it entirely too easy to pick up a
bottle of syrup at the grocery store. Homemade sugar
syrup, in case anyone is interested, is simply sugar and
water, boiled.
